STORAGE & PRIVACY DISCLOSURE

COOKIE POLICY.

EFFECTIVE DATE: SEPTEMBER 2026 Β· VERSION 1.0

1. SUMMARY: ZERO INTRUSIVE TRACKING COOKIES

MustTools does not use cross-site tracking cookies, third-party behavioral profiling beacons, or invasive fingerprinting scripts. We believe modern developer utilities should respect user sovereignty. Our application relies strictly on standard browser-level localStorage keys to preserve your interface preferences.

2. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND LOCAL STORAGE?

HTTP Cookies are small text files stored on your computer that are automatically sent to web servers with every network request.

Local Storage (localStorage) is a modern W3C client-side storage mechanism that saves key-value pairs strictly within your local browser sandbox. Data saved in localStorage is never automatically transmitted over the network to any remote server.

3. INVENTORY OF STORAGE KEYS USED BY MUSTTOOLS

Below is the comprehensive, transparent registry of every storage item created by MustTools:

KEY NAMETYPEPURPOSEEXPIRY
themelocalStorageStores your light or dark mode visual preference to prevent flash on reload.Persistent
musttools_selected_countrylocalStorageStores manually chosen country code for localized calculator currencies (e.g. USD, EUR, INR).Persistent
musttools_geo_datalocalStorageCaches detected regional location to prevent redundant API queries on repeat page visits.7 Days

4. THIRD-PARTY ANALYTICS (AGGREGATED & DEFERRED)

To monitor aggregate traffic volumes, identify broken links, and measure global page load performance, we load a privacy-hardened Google Analytics tag (gtag.js).

Our analytics implementation:

  • Is deferred until explicit user interaction (touch, scroll, click) to preserve pristine initial mobile performance.
  • Does not collect personal names, email addresses, passwords, or input payload data.
  • Is never linked to advertising or cross-site tracking profiles.

5. HOW TO MANAGE OR PURGE LOCAL STORAGE

Because all data is stored on your machine, you have complete control over its retention. You can purge all storage at any time directly through your browser settings or DevTools:

  • Google Chrome & Microsoft Edge: Press F12 β†’ Application tab β†’ Storage β†’ Clear site data.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Press F12 β†’ Storage tab β†’ Local Storage β†’ Right-click musttools.com β†’ Delete All.
  • Apple Safari: Settings β†’ Privacy β†’ Manage Website Data β†’ Search "musttools" β†’ Remove.

6. GDPR & EPRIVACY DIRECTIVE COMPLIANCE

Under Recital 30 of the EU GDPR and Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, strictly necessary functional storage (such as user interface visual styling preferences and regional localization) does not require invasive banner pop-ups.
